Privacy Policy

BigVision Academy (“BigVision”, “we”, “us”) runs an in-person engineering programme and publishes free learning resources at bigvision.academy. This policy covers this website and the enquiry, workshop, assessment and resource-download forms on it.

For the purposes of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), BigVision Academy is the Data Fiduciary for the data described here, and you are the Data Principal. Our servers and database are hosted on Google Cloud in India (Mumbai region).

We only collect what a form asks for, plus standard web analytics. Specifically:

What we deliberately do not collect on this website: payment or card details, government ID numbers, academic transcripts, biometric data, or any of the special categories of data you would consider sensitive. If we ever need documents for enrolment, we will collect them separately and tell you why.

When you submit a form, your browser may ask for permission to share your location. We use it to understand which cities and colleges our applicants come from, so we can plan batches and campus locations. It is not used to track you around the internet.

There are two cases, and we record which one applied to you:

• /You allow it. We store approximate coordinates and convert them into a readable place name such as “Jaipur, Rajasthan, India”. The conversion is done by a third-party geocoding service that receives the coordinates.
• /You decline, or your browser can’t answer. We fall back to a rough city-level estimate derived from your IP address by a third-party lookup service. This is approximate — typically your city or your internet provider’s exchange, not your street.

Declining precise location does not break anything — the form submits normally and you get the same response from us. If you would rather we held no location at all, say so at support@bigvision.academy and we will strip it from your record.

• /To contact you about admissions, batches, workshops and the curriculum you enquired about.
• /To send you the syllabus, playbook or resource you specifically asked for.
• /To confirm you are a real person and stop bots from flooding our forms.
• /To understand which pages, resources and campaigns actually bring in serious applicants, so we spend our effort there.
• /To improve the website and the programme.
• /To meet legal, accounting or regulatory obligations where these apply.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making, credit scoring, or profiling that produces legal effects for you.

When you submit a form you are asking us to get in touch. We do that by phone call, WhatsApp, SMS and email — usually a counsellor or engineer following up on your enquiry, plus occasional updates about batches, workshops and new resources.

You can stop this at any time. Reply STOP on WhatsApp or SMS, use the unsubscribe link in any email, tell the person who calls you, or email support@bigvision.academy. We will keep honouring it — opting out of marketing does not stop us replying to a question you actually asked us.

We process your data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form, after being shown this notice. Precise location has its own separate consent — your browser’s permission prompt.

You can withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, by emailing support@bigvision.academy. Withdrawal applies going forward — it does not undo processing that already happened lawfully, and we may retain the minimum needed to prove we handled your request.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not rent or trade it. Your details are not passed to recruiters, other institutes, or lead-buying networks. We share only in these situations:

• /Google (Firebase / Google Cloud) — hosts this website, stores our database in India, sends the verification OTP, and provides analytics.
• /Meta Platforms — the Meta Pixel on this site reports page views for advertising measurement. We do not send your name, number or email to Meta from this website.
• /Geolocation providers — receive coordinates or your IP address in order to return a place name, as described in section 03.
• /Service providers who help us operate — the tools we use to manage admissions enquiries and send communications. They act on our instructions, are bound by confidentiality, and may not use your data for their own purposes.
• /Law enforcement, courts or regulators — where we are legally required to disclose, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Some of these providers are global companies and may process data outside India, in line with the transfer rules under the DPDP Act.

BigVision does not set its own login or advertising cookies — there is no account to sign into on this site. However, the tools embedded here do set their own cookies and browser storage:

• /Google Analytics — to distinguish returning visitors and measure traffic.
• /Meta Pixel — to measure ad performance.
• /Google reCAPTCHA and Firebase — to run the anti-bot check during OTP verification.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and you can limit ad personalisation in your Google Ad Settings and Meta Ad Preferences. Blocking cookies will not stop you using this site or submitting a form.

We keep your enquiry details for as long as it takes to serve the purpose you gave them for — and we keep them until you ask us to delete them. Admissions cycles are long and applicants often return a year or two later, so we do not auto-purge records.

When you ask us to delete, we do it within 30 days, across our live database and our communication tools. We may retain a minimal record where a law requires it, or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim — nothing more.

Everything you submit travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Your details are stored in an access-restricted managed database on Google Cloud in India, reachable only by authorised BigVision staff who need it to respond to you. Mobile numbers are OTP-verified to keep junk out, and forms are protected by invisible reCAPTCHA.

We will be honest with you: no system on the internet is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.

Under the DPDP Act, as a Data Principal you have the right to:

• /Access. Get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we have processed it.
• /Correction & completion. Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected, completed or updated.
• /Erasure. Have your personal data deleted, unless we are legally required to keep it.
• /Withdraw consent. Pull back the permission you gave, at any time.
• /Nominate. Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.
• /Grievance redressal. Complain to us first and get a response — see section 14.

To exercise any of these, email support@bigvision.academy from the email address you gave us, or mention the mobile number you submitted so we can find your record. We respond within 30 days. There is no charge.

This website and our programme are intended for people aged 18 and above. If you are under 18, please submit a form only with the consent of your parent or legal guardian, and expect us to speak to them before proceeding.

In line with the DPDP Act, we do not knowingly carry out tracking or targeted advertising directed at children, and we do not knowingly process a child’s data without verifiable parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us data, email support@bigvision.academy and we will delete it.

We will update this page when our practices change — for example if we add a new tool that touches your data. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you directly rather than quietly editing this page.

If we fail to resolve your grievance to your satisfaction, you may escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act, 2023.
